Jurying of Fall Works: 3/2

Jurying of Fall Work took place on Friday, 3/2 at 10:30AM-12:30PM in the curved room.

I organized the event, printed out handouts for jurors to write on, and tallied up votes afterwards with Chris Potter.

Below is a review of the jurying itself, as well as the juried works:

-9 people showed up to jury, the group consisted of a mix of class reps, working group leaders, and screening group members.
-There were 19 works that were considered to have a majority in favor, meaning they got a 6:3 ratio or higher. These works will, unless otherwise specified in the future, be on the reel.
-There were 12 "Maybes", meaning the works had a ratio of 5:4 or 4:5. These works will be kept on file until after the Jurying of Spring Work, when their inclusion into the show will be determined based on available space.
-Class representation for selected projects is as follows:
  • VIZA 613: 9
  • VIZA 643: 3
  • VIZA 622: 2
  • VIZA 654: 2
  • Independent: 2
  • VIZA 685: 1

Things to find out about:

1)  If a project won an award or was exhibited somewhere, should it get automatic admission?
2) If the student no longer attends the University, should his work be considered?
3) CLASS REELS????
